Catch a Pocket Bishoujo :: Catch a Pocket Bishónen The Plum Gym Point Team 12 Bishoujo, 9 Bishounen including 9 Gym Badges Spunky and self-assured, Mayumi is young and a capable crewmember of No. 6. She clashes with Hayami for his irresponsibility, but she follows him to the very source of her pain and anger -- the scientist who destroyed the world, and her family. Twilight Gym. When a beautiful young gargoyle, Demona inadvertantly got her clan cursed and killed, and from that day on lived in hatred of humans. Conniving and ruthless, Demona burns with an anger which knows no bounds... even extending to her former love, Goliath. Demona is actually the only one of the Master Badge gyms that I've ever seen. She is voiced by Marina Sirtis of Star Trek: Next Gen fame, and one of my favorite evil ones. Granite Gym. This tiny blond firecracker is physically the strongest of the Slayers gals. Filia, a dragon priestess, is quite a handful. (Heh, watch out for her tail.) Garden Gym. Tira Misu is just a lovely, shy lil Red Riding Hood... till she throws off her cape and goes all out *dom*! Eye-candy for hentais, yes, but she's really a shy thing who's protective of her Carrot. Prism Gym. Shayla Shayla is a fiery hot-tempered lush, and priestess of El Hazard. Sound familiar? Yes, she too succumbs to Tenchi Syndrome, and gets gushy and blushy around her object of affection. She is my 50th Bishoujo catch! Spark Gym. I like Fuu! And I've never even seen Rayearth ^^;;; The level-headed intellectual of the group, though she is prone to blond moments of stating the obvious. (Anime smart people seem to do this frequently.) She also has my kind of a sense of humor ::cackle:: Storm Gym. Cherry reminds me of Sasami. Very sweet, loves to cook, pines away in her daydreams... and oh yes, she's also an android who must learn to be human. Kinda interesting. Heart Gym. My *gosh* this one was hard to catch! There's like one working Battle Skippers site on the Internet, and even that isn't too comprehensive. Fortunately most of the questions on this rich bitch were consistent and I finally hit on the right combo. Ocean Gym. And finally, my qualifying badge, Sakura of Sakura Wars. Sounds like a cool anime, I might check it out one of these days. It's set in the 1920s, but on an earth where demons and humans are at the edge of war. Sakura also has a mighty cool sword and what sounds like lots of angst. Not bad! Earth Gym. Oh. My. God. Give me a minute. This man... this *man* is the most droolworthy thing on two legs on this earth! Most people know him as Duncan McCleod of the Clan McCleod in the TV series "Highlander." Now, don't roll your eyes: this guy act, in drama or comedy, he can do his own stunts, and YES, that is him sword-fighting with a real blade, wearing a kilt / tights / robes / leather / nothing, and he can do a mean tango. Before he started acting, he was a choreographer and a soccer player. He's one of the most versatile human beings ever! A legend of rock n' roll, Freddie will live in our hearts forever. He and the other members of Queen produced songs that still make the heart pound and the blood surge. Most unfortunately I was not able to see his statue in Lausanne, Switzerland, facing south into Lake Geneva. Rock on, Freddie. Stubborn. Sensuous. Deadly. Hers was a bittersweet life of adventure of her own making, and evil beyond her own designs. She fought like a tiger, but in the end she bowed before Green Destiny... Seth Green! One of the only bishounen in my generation I'm truly impressed with. His hair color morphs frequently, but his acting is all natural-- the loveable rogue with a knack for sharp comedy and looking good without forcing it. He's my 50th Bishounen catch! *sigh*! James Marsters is a British trained actor... and hugely popular as Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, bad-to-the-bone vampire turned brooding Buffy-stalker. James has done a marvelous job navigating Spike's change from scary to sensitive. He also sings, plays guitar, and writes. And mmm, he's dreamy. This generation's Chosen One, Buffy Summers kicks demonic ass and still makes it to her next class. Her otherwise shallow character started developing in the middle of the stunningly funny story. She's the center of a fine ensemble cast, and, like, an excellent ordinary everyday slayer of netherworld monsters... Dear lord! And I thought his voice was sexy. Kirby Morrow has sent chills down my spine more than once... if you watch any dubbed anime, I'm sure you've heard him as the voice of Trowa Barton and Van Fanel. His voice could melt butter. Mellifluous, low, my gosh, if it had fingers I'd-- *ahem*. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he's a cutie as well! Yet another voice actor with a dreamy voice, and good looks too. Michael Reisz appears here and there as an extra (he's been on Star Trek), but to us fan-girls he's the suave, too-cool-for-you voice of Yamato Ishida on Digimon. He does a beautiful job, doesn't he? Whether painted like a geisha, disguised as a slave girl, or armed to the teeth, Queen Amidala thought first of her people. No simpering damsel in distress, she carried herself well despite the wild hairstyles. John Crichton is the ultimate survivor. His space ship gets shunted to a different part of the universe and he has to join a crew of alien fugitives. He's a John Wayne / Harrison Ford hero the likes of which is rarely seen these days, and he holds his own with the British muppets. Oh yeah, and he's a hottie. Guinan is a little too old and wise for the bishoujo title, but I don't think she'd turn down the chance to look good. This intergalactic bartender has been there, done that, and out-lived yo momma. Rock on, honey. What would you do if you were the last man left in the universe? Millions of BBC lovers know the answer. Lister is trapped on the Red Dwarf with a mutated cat, a clueless android, an arrogant hologram, a sarcastic computer, and later, his old ex-flame. The special effects are purely British-- worse than last year's socks. The humor will leave you rolling on the floor. Lister faces it all with a snappy remark and a smirk, and we love him for it. What can I say? I have a thing for guys trapped on space ships ^^. Or in this case, the Satellite of Love. His bosses, the Mad Scientists, force Joel to watch horrible movies with his robot friends. I will never forget that one break during a Steve Reeves Hercules movie when Joel managed _not_ to explain the birds and the bees to the 'bots. "And then the nice lady... asked him to wash the dishes." The sleepy-eyed captain of our cultural demise, Joel made bad films fun. (BTW, I do like Mike, but I am more of a Joel gal.) Plum Gym, being the Point Team, will not be assigned any training. They are constantly on the move, and their tasks lead them too far afield for any organized activities. However, Achika can track all of them, and provides instruction as needed. Achika: We are not so much a team as a group of operatives. Each of us works independently, and report back to the Gym HQ only when there is vital information. Many of us are also flesh-and-blood characters and people. We are very proud of the badges earned here to make Shusu a master trainer. Total: Bishoujos & Bishónen In addition to their optional training and teaching, all bishies are trained in chi energy blasting, basic comedy, first aid and CPR, table manners, self-defense, origami, aerial navigation, photography and/or watercolors, infiltration, sword fighting, cooking with chocolate, and in some cases, deep massage.
